House of Mozart in St. Gilgen

As a special highlight of your summer holiday at the Wolfgangsee – Salzburg you can visit the House of Mozart in St. Gilgen. The mother from Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart was born in this house. You can get to know more about the family of Mozart, in documents, pictures and the multi-media show “The Mozarts and St. Gilgen“.  The fountain next to the museum of Mozart shows a portrait of Mozart's mother in her young days.

Fountain “Seebrunnen” St. Gilgen

The famous fountain “Seebrunnen” is another sight in Salzburg at the Wolfgangsee. Stop for a moment and have a look at the unique water fountain at the promenade.

Parish church St. Gilgen

The parish church St. Ägydius in St. Gilgen – Wolfgangsee has been restored in the middle of the 18th century in the late-baroque style. You can marvel at the three altars inside the church, which combine rococo and classicism stylistic or admire the so-called "Mozart's pipe organ" which was built in 1990. Inside of the church you can find pictures of Peter Anton Lorenzi and the baroque “Madonna with child” from the “Sculptor of Mondsee”, that’s how Meinrad Guggenbichler is also called.

Museum “Zinkenbacher Malerkolonie”

The doors to most different exhibitions in the museum “Zinkenbacher Malerkolonie” are opened from July till the end of September for you. A row of artists spent in the so-called "Malschiff" their time in Zinkenbach. After 1938 only a few artists, who stayed at the Wolfgangsee – Salzburg, are well known for the future generation. Today we put special attention on the artists, who are supposed to be missed.

Heimatkundliches Museum St. Gilgen

In which in 1655 built "Wetzl or hermit's House", the local history museum is housed in St. Gilgen. The house owes its existence to the 30-year period after the war, as in St. Gilgen, the cottage industry of lace-making developed. Visit 11 rooms are where the story is presented from St. Gilgen.
In 1994 the museum with the Austrian Museum of National Award of the Federal Ministry for Science and Research, 2001 with the first "museum in Salzburg key", and in 2003 awarded the Austrian Museum of approval.
From local history museum and an archive for local history is made​​, this is for the public as an educational and research facility

Puppenmuseum St. Wolfgang

At Villa Rix, near the mountain sheep station, the world of dolls to life. More than 300 dolls, most of them over 100 years old, from several countries are united here. Of course, the appropriate accessories, such as clothing and not missing doll's house. An extensive library complements the collection.
